Use the search bar to find companies, then review their profile pages. Each profile shows the overall star rating, customer reviews, and essential FMCSA licensing details for comparison.

The USDOT (US Department of Transportation) Number is a unique identifier assigned by the FMCSA to commercial motor carriers. It tracks a company's safety performance, compliance, and inspection history.

The MC (Motor Carrier) Number is an operating authority issued by the FMCSA. It grants permission for a company to transport regulated goods, including vehicles, across state lines for hire.

Most companies operating across state lines and for compensation require both numbers. Companies without them are generally not authorized to legally engage in interstate commercial transport.

On every company's profile page, we display a section with the company's official USDOT/MC numbers and their current operating authority status pulled directly from FMCSA data.

An "Active" status means the company is currently registered with the FMCSA and possesses the necessary operating authority and insurance to legally transport vehicles across state lines.

A "Revoked" status means the company's operating authority has been canceled by the FMCSA. This could be due to insurance lapses, safety violations, or failure to comply with regulations.

A "Not Authorized" status typically means the company's authority has been temporarily suspended. This often happens due to an expired BOC-3 process agent filing or an insurance coverage lapse.

Checking the status ensures you are hiring a legally operating, federally regulated company. Operating without authority puts your vehicle at risk and is a significant red flag for fraud.

Brokers must also be registered and have an MC number showing "Broker" operating authority. You can check their licensing status on their Transportvibe profile.

Avoid booking with any company whose authority is "Revoked" or "Not Authorized." Hiring them means using an illegal, unregulated service, which is unsafe.
